OurShelves selected this book because the characters can be read as an LGBTQ+-parented family. When it was next to impossible to find any books at all depicting her kids' two-mom family, OurShelves Founder Alli Harper loved reading this book to her children because they both loved the simple story, and they could also read their family type into the book.
