I've subscribed for over a year now. We get three books every three months. My son is almost two years old and he loves when we get new books in the mail to read! One of his all time favorite books is Baby Goes to Market. We love introducing him to all types of people, cultures, languages, and family dynamics. This subscription has helped us do that. I believe when you sign up, you set age preferences and topics you are interested in, as well as frequency. We only receive board books, because paperback just wouldn't survive 😂 Ourshelves is overall a great service to help add diverse books to your library! Wonderful customer service as well!

My family absolutely loves this subscription! We've had it since our son was just 3 months old, and the books have been lovely. They're always age appropriate, and as he gets older (he's a toddler now), he still enjoys even the "little baby" books (it's fun to point out items and name them). A couple of these books have become bedtime requirements now, and we're so glad they are diverse and show our son how unique and wonderful we all are. "Love in the Wild" is our current favorite, and I love the art!

Brilliant service! Can't recommend highly enough. Not only a great concept, but I've had customer service that goes far above and beyond what I would have expected. Do yourself and your kids a favor and subscribe to OurShelves.

Hello fellow Reviewers...I read ALL the reviews I can before I make a purchase, even innocuous ones, so I must pay it forward. You must subscribe to Ourshelves if you want your children to be exposed to literature you may not find in mainstream stores! So far my family has received 3 boxes and we are very satisfied. My 8 month old daughter has now been exposed to LGBTQIA, Native American, and Spanish language books. In addition to that, she is able to see herself in the characters in books we have received. We are Black and we are not often represented in books that fly off the shelf. Ourshelves makes my family and I feel mainstream. Do your family a favor and subscribe to this affordable book subscription service!!!!

Only good things to say about OurShelves! There couldn't be a better mission, and I love that I learn new things from the books you send my daughter too. Your book subscription doesn't just make me a better mom for building a diverse bookshelf and teaching my daughter about how the world looks outside our family—it makes me a better person as well.

I subscribe to 3 books a quarter for my toddler, and it's everything I wanted and more. I'm so glad we can get high quality books featuring people from different backgrounds, without me having to spend any time doing research. My favorite pick so far is Ninos Mindful Rest & Relax, where you wiggle your toes, bend them tight, and relax, and repeat with different parts of your body. It makes *me* feel more relaxed when I read it to my toddler and do the actions. Thank you Ourshelves team.

I've been getting this subscription for my now two year old since they started and I absolutely love it. I'm a non-binary single parent, and my child's other parent is a transgender woman, so that is not a family structure that you can't find hardly anywhere in children's literature. Fortunately though we have gotten so many books that show so many different families from as many different backgrounds that you can imagine that it is easy for me to show my child that just because a family looks different from ours, it is no less of a family.
I also love that my AMAB, blond haired blue eyed child sees so many children that DO NOT look just like them in these books. I am so glad that I can use these books as a starting point to normalize the humanness of everyone, and not just people who might look like us, or just speak our language.
This is truly amazing and definitely worth it
